Definition
Temperature controls how creative or predictable AI text generation is. Low temperature gives consistent answers. High temperature gives varied, creative responses.
How It Works
AI picks the next word based on probabilities. At temperature 0, it always picks the most likely word. At higher temperatures, it sometimes picks less likely words, making output more random.
Low temperature (0-0.3) works for factual questions. High temperature (0.7-1.0) works for creative writing.
Why It Matters
Temperature lets you tune AI behavior for different tasks. Use low temperature for consistent, factual responses. Use high temperature when you want creative, varied outputs.
Many AI tools let you adjust this setting to match what you need.
