In a September 8 walkthrough, Bilawal Sidhu started with the question that had followed the release of God’s Eye View: “How do I run the damn thing if I’m not a coder?” Sidhu created the project after six years as a Google product manager working on spatial computing and 3D maps. His screen showed aircraft, ships, public cameras and infrastructure arranged around a dark globe that looked closer to an operations console than a consumer map. The code was public. The practical route from repository to useful display was less obvious.
Opening the globe was only the first test.
God’s Eye View is a locally run web application that assembles public and third-party signals in one geographic interface. This tutorial follows the official documentation and a fresh, keyless local validation.
