G-20 ministers adopted the US-backed Carolina Principles in Chapel Hill, urging governments to reserve new AI regulation for novel cases. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said all 20 members agreed, China included. The European Commission sent information requests to more than 30 AI companies during the same meeting.
