Cloudflare cut more than 1,100 jobs while internal AI use rose more than 600% in three months, and CEO Matthew Prince named the target: measurers, the audit, finance, legal, compliance and middle-management roles that watch and coordinate work. Meta cut about 8,000 jobs while shifting 7,000 toward AI, and Intuit cut about 3,000 and is winding down two offices. The same-week pattern is narrower than mass automation. Musk Built Grok to Carry His Politics. That Choice Capped Its Market.

Elon Musk promised the smartest AI on Earth. Under oath, he ranked xAI behind every major rival. The audited numbers, the empty federal contracts, and the exodus of every co-founder all trace to one decision: he built Grok to carry his politics, and the market that pays declined.

Elon Musk ranked his own AI company behind Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google, under oath. Days later, SpaceX's IPO filing showed a $6.4 billion loss, three federal customers against OpenAI's 234, and a flagship data center rented to a rival. Grok is a capable model. The thing holding it back sits one level up.
